Mission & Core Values

Our Mission

Love God. Love People.
That's the heart of it. Simple enough to understand, and a lifetime to learn.
We believe Jesus shows us what God is like and what it means to be fully human. In him, we encounter a love that heals, restores, and makes all things new.
Our mission is: To become people who are continually  transformed by God's love, learning to see the world as Jesus sees it, to love what he loves, and to participate in the good he's bringing into the world.
We practice this way of life together, right here in San Clemente.

Our Core Values

These three commitments shape our life together, guide our decisions, and remind us of the kind of community we hope to become.
1. Jesus is our clearest picture of God.
Everything begins with Jesus. We believe his life, teachings, death, and resurrection reveal the heart of God. He shapes how we read Scripture, understand faith, and navigate our differences. When we're uncertain about what to believe or how to respond, we return to the question: Does this look like Jesus?
2. Love is something we practice.
We believe spiritual growth happens in relationship. That means learning to listen, tell the truth, forgive, share what we have, and remain present with one another through life's joys and difficulties. Love asks something of us, and we believe it's worth the effort.
3. The good of our neighbors is our concern.
We believe God is at work beyond the walls of our church, and we're invited to participate. We seek to pay attention to the needs of our neighbors, care for those who are overlooked, and use our resources to make a meaningful difference. Our faith should leave tangible traces of goodness in the places where we live.
